daffodil day

joke of the week:

three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.

the first man had married a woman from albania, and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed to be done at their house. he said that it took a couple of days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

the second man had married a woman from korea. he bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. he told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day was better. by the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

the third man had married an australian girl. he boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. he said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye.

gotta love them australian girls!

came into work today only to receive such a pleasant surprise! toula (see last picture) bought me a bunch of daffodils as a little thank-you gift for my work yesterday =) i don't know why, but that was really sweet of her! after all, i was only doing my job.

the beautiful daffodils =)

you see, i was rostered on by myself all day yesterday and had a million things to get done (i.e. 10 huge bags of stock to security tag, hang, merchandise, not to mention serving customers etc.). whoa, usually toula does the merchandising every week but she and my manager and 2IC were away for the monthly managers meeting, so i was put in charge! oh my goodess, you may think merchandising is so damn easy, but let me tell you it is actually quite hard! you have all these garments with different styles, colours, patterns and fabric, and somehow you have to work it all in so each has its seperate 'story'. this is done by keeping colours in harmony and contrasting styles so it looks eye-catching, attractive and uncluttered.

merchandising by far was the (only) complex and stressful task of the day, but needless to say, i think i did rather quite okay! =) it took me 3 whole hours to complete - hey, don't forget i was by myself and had customers to attend to, but i finally made it! unfortunately i think i've strained or twisted my wrist in the process - trying to be superwoman by carrying too much stock =(

i'm so relieved that toula actually likes my merchandising! (toula is in charge of stock and merchandising). so much so that she's left everthing in it's place apart from two racks. that's awesome! *fingers crossed* she'll give it another week before she merchandises the floor again .. hehe merchandising is done twice a week =( i don't know how that woman does it, but she makes the floor look impeccable! it's called 'skills' =D

taylor, me and toula =)
*old pic: 6kgs later my face looks like a balloon and eyes look like slits*

aside from work, nothing exciting has been happening .. sorry for the boring entry! again you guys suck - for viewing my closed myspace blog more than this blog! strange people!

i think it's the rain, yeah i'll blame it on the rain, but i'm feeling quite miserable today. there's nothing to feel sad about, really. hmm, i'm so confused .. but there's nothing to be confused about. gee, so contradictory yet i describe myself as simple. lol, what a joke. anyways it's okay .. by tomorrow i will be fine.
