welcome aboard the 'titanic'

how was your weekend everyone? i hope it was as lovely as mine =D haha for once ..

last saturday night the cousins and i embarked on a trip downtown .. down down town .. all the way down to williamstown. seems far, hey? well it really was .. not .. that far after all hehe. for some reason i've always perceived williamstown to be like 2-3 hours away, so i was pleasantly surprised that it took only 50 minutes to get there (via citylink ofcourse) and a smooth 35 minutes to get back (no traffic at night).

saturday was also the first time i paid highpoint shopping centre a visit and my goodness, it is H U G E! and it has absolutely everything! right next to the huge shopping centre is a newly established L2 Living, which consists of every well-known furniture store under the sun, as well as a health and fitness area, in addition to tanning and beauty salons too! there is even an aquariam just 200 metres away! buses and trams (or was that a train track) are conveniently located just outside the entrance and oh .. it's just so huge i could get lost! it's either that or the fact that i don't know my way around highpoint, unlike my second home - chadstone shopping centre lol.

anyway, i am going straight off a tangent. now where was i .. oh yes, williamstown. we were there to experience the titanic and to sail away to new york - yes new york. well, we didn't sail away literally, more like erm .. imaginarily lol. the 'titanic' is a dinner theatre restaurant - very rare as you'll know. it's aim is to recreate the maiden voyage of the RMS titanic and capture the feel of the 1912 era. the restaurant is a tribute to the legendary RMS titanic and to those who lost their lives from it.

guests are required to ahere to the strict dress code - black tie and formal dresses - more preferrably, period attire. why wasn't i dressed up in corset dresses, feather boas and all that? two reasons; 1. most were ridiculous looking, and 2. i was way too tall for them!

okay enough of all the boring stuff. here are some of the pictures taken on the night ..

the restaurant is in a building, not a ship =)

my husband and i (hehe NOT!)

my babyfaced cousin

nice shot, hey

cut me some slack. i had one cocktail, blame the peace signs on the cocktail! >_<

kimmys jaw looks a tad out of place here lol. i can assure you it's just the photo!

me, lady, and kim-sung. she was one of the actresses in the production and had such huge almond shaped eyes! but you can't see it in this picture ..

kimmy and kimsta - so handsomeeeeeee!!

the man on the right is the captain of the ship lol

two ladies fighting for the captains atention

they made everyone do the 'oompa loompa' dance lol .. was the biggest laugh ever!

the lovely musicians that played a song for us

there's alot more, however most are on kimsta's camera =( i can't believe what a full house it was! tickets were pretty much sold out apart from two - only because of a late cancellation. the 'ship' is seperated into 3 classes: the lower, first class and captains table. the first class and captains table are on the top level with approximately 250 tables. lower class tickets are (i think) $49, first class (where we were) are $79, and the captains table is a whopping $200! shaayt! so let's assume there was 250 first-class people: 250 x 79 = $19,750! omeegord! then take into consideration the lower class, and the captains table! whoa ..

i had a most enjoyable night and the atmosphere was simply amazing. even though the food was just okay, the crew made up for it by being so funny, courteous, prompt and they did everything with such enthusiasm! i would really recommend anyone wanting to experience something new, different and exciting to book tickets for the titanic! enjoy your trip people!
